Common Questions
Are you currently taking new clients?
Yes! I have recently reopened my schedule to new client intakes. I have the following slots available in my schedule, and can also accommodate those whose schedules vary week to week:
-
Mondays at 11:00am (weekly)
-
Mondays at 12:00pm (weekly)
-
Tuesdays at 4:00pm (weekly)
-
Wednesdays at 4:00pm (weekly)
-
Thursdays at 2:00pm (weekly)
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes! I encourage all my clients to schedule a FREE 15 minute phone consult to help us both determine if I'm best fit to support your needs. This can also be a chance to gain clarity around my approach to counseling and discuss the intake process before scheduling.
Are you in-network with my health insurance?
I'm in-network with select plans under BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina (BCBS of NC) and Aetna.
I am not in-network with any other health insurance company at this time. However, I'd be happy to provide you with an invoice of your services (known as a superbill) for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company to confirm if this is an option for you.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Please use the contact form on this website or email me directly to set up a time for your free initial phone consultation. During our phone consultation we can decide if we're the right fit for you to begin your therapeutic journey and discuss scheduling your intake session.
Can we schedule our sessions in-person?
Yes! I am currently offering in-person sessions for those local to the Asheville area. Virtual sessions will continue to be offered for those who prefer telehealth.
How often should I schedule a counseling session?
I strongly encourage clients to schedule consistent weekly sessions in order to gain the greatest benefit from therapy, particularly in the beginning stages of our work together. Session frequency may decrease as you progress towards your goals.
How long will I need to be in counseling?
It probably goes without saying, but- healing is rarely a rapid process. Infact, sometimes slow and steady is truly what's best. It's not unusual for many folks seeking out support for life-long concerns that have impacted nearly every area of their lives to find the most benefit from long-term therapy.
The length of our work together may depend on a variety of factors, such as session frequency, client readiness, progress towards treatment goals, strength of engagement, etc..
Can we still work together if I live outside of North Carolina?
My counseling license is only valid within the state of North Carolina and there are complex regulations related to the practice of counseling across state lines and internationally. For this reason, I'm only able to work with clients who also reside within North Carolina at this time.
